The Supreme Court Chief Justice, Mr. Xhezair Zaganjori held a meeting in his office with the Ambassador of Germany in Tirana, Mrs. Carola Müller–Holtkemper.
During this meeting, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court expressed his gratitude to the German Ambassador for her visit, especially appreciating the help and continuous support that the government of Germany has offered in the field of justice. This is ascertained through the collaboration with German Embassy or with the prominent foundations such as the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, the Hans-Seidel Foundation, the Freidrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), etc.
Mr. Zaganjori also emphasized that the practice of referring to the decisions of different instances of the judiciary of the Federal Republic of Germany, by judges of all instances in Albania, is being consolidated as work proceeds. According to him, such a practice has a positive impact on the process of meeting the standards that draw Albania closer to the EU integration, as well as the consolidation of the rule of law and protection of liberties and fundamental rights.
Madam Müller–Holtkemper, praising the achievements in the field of justice, emphasized that the German state is interested to proceed with its assistance in various important sectors for Albania’s further development. Germany, as one of the one of the most important investors in Albania, has a prioritized view to the consolidation of the of the justice system, as a professional judiciary offers guarantees in attracting foreign investments that lead to the economic growth of the country. The German Ambassador said that Albania’s goal to join the European Union requires the fulfillment of all individual responsibilities, as well as a well coordinated engagement from all institutions in the country.
